Here it is already the end of March! For three months I have held to my resolutions. I have written a little more than I had hoped. Same with the reading. These two skills enabled me to step up to the 5 hours of writing needed by the comps. Exercise continues to be an issue. As I age, I find it increasingly harder to maintain my military fitness and comportment. After surgery, I can't sustain the movements I used to be able to perform to stay fit. Situps, for example. I do manage to keep up with standard pushups. Standards once learned, stay with a soldier for life. The photo of the day has made good progress. As my skills inprove the technical level of my photos also improves. The camera is with me at nearly all times; however, I have missed the photo of the day a few times.
So how about non-cognitive values like grit, persistence, and self-regulation? I have seen some improvement. I can work until the goal is accomplished. On the othet hand, I can also sit at my desk and reorganize where I have saved my files or cruise Nikon lense sales for hours before beginning. Once I start, time flies until I finish.
Since my brother passed, I have read a chapter a day (or more) in the Hardy Boys series, they were his favorite forty years ago.
